This year, Mr. Anwar Khan was fortunate to be accompanied by several guests during his yearly December visit to the camps.
Anwar’s daughter, Arishaa Khan, who is also a much valued H2O (Help to OBAT- OBAT’s volunteer group) volunteer, travelled with him from Indianapolis. Mr. Ehtesham Arshad, who sits on OBAT’s advisory board and lives in Chicago, also joined in for a tour of the camps. On behalf of FOH (Friends of Humanity) Mr. Arshad distributed 300 school bags to the children enrolled in OBAT’s non formal education program in Syedpur and donated $500 for the fire victims in Rangpur.
The Dhaka English School of OBAT has been running with the generous sponsorship of Mr. Husam Ahmed from New York. Mr. Husam also visited the schools and camps in Dhaka and Chittagong with his family. OBAT cannot thank him enough for his generous support.
Our most important guests who visited the camps and offered their talents, pro bono to OBAT, were Katie Basbagill and Zachary Rockwood. We are infinitely grateful to them both.

President's Message
Dear friends,
OBAT has completed nine years of struggles and successes. In this time, we have accomplished several projects, of which I am proud to share with you the high self-empowerment rate achieved in our education and micro-financing projects. Up to this date, we have been able to provide basic education to thousands of kids and also help hundreds of youth for college and professional education.
I travel every year to Bangladesh to visit our forgotten brothers and sisters. My recent visit marked a milestone for the journey of their progress. At the Rangpur tutoring center, I asked the students about their future plans and almost 60% of them expressed interest in becoming a doctor, lawyer or another professional.
