Anwar's Diaries- Day 17

28th December, 2016
Early in the morning, we attended a meeting  in our office with “Japan Association of Drainage and Environment (JADE),” a Japan based non-profit organization. JADE is promoting public health improvement projects, combining reproductive health, nutrition and indoor air pollution projects in Bangladesh.  Mr. Tofayel and his associate gave a presentation on awareness of their project and we are looking forward to collaboratively working with them.
JADE and OBAT: We will work on a collaborative effort for creating awareness related to sanitation and waste management and its effects on the health of the communities. Proposal is still under review. We hope to partner with JADE on not only awareness but as strategic partners when it comes to  sustainable sanitation projects. Their expertise could be invaluable to us and we hope to build a strong relationship in the future.
After attending the meeting, we started for Bangladesh Shishu Academy (The national institute for Children in Bangladesh) where we enjoyed the children’s festival. This program was organized for disadvantaged children of Dhaka City. Thirty children from OBAT English School participated in the program and performed music and dance with remarkable skill.
After enjoying the program, we went to Kamlapur Railway Station to head to Chittagong.
