Mirpur Shaheen School

The Mirpur Shaheen School in Dhaka is the latest addition to OBAT’s education program. This school was initiated in 1973 and aimed at providing education to the camp children. At first, Concern Worldwide operated this school; it was later taken over by another NGO. However, the school fell into a crisis when this NGO withdrew its support, causing the student enrollment to fall drastically. The objectives of running the Shaheen School include increasing enrollment to provide support to more students, especially to orphans and renovating the school. Increasing the capacity of teachers and management is also a part of OBAT’s plan to improve the school’s operations.

Grades run from nursery to tenth grade level; a total of 650 students are currently enrolled in this school. The Mirpur Shaheen School is being sponsored  with the generous support of Kashi Hassan from Seattle.
