Yasin Arafat

Yasin’s father passed away when he was only 2 years old. Hence, his mother, Anjum had to take up the financial responsibility for the family. It was very difficult for her to bear all his expenses with her meager income. Eager to give her son a good future, she worked hard and did not look back.
“When I felt bored or tired while studying, I would look at my mother’s eyes for inspiration. Thanks to her, I have always been sincere, punctual and hard-working.” Yasin. This work ethic reflected in his exam results in which he always stood first. Thanks to his great results, Yasin received scholarships to continue his studies.
In 2018, Yasin received a scholarship from OBAT. Once more, he received outstanding results in his SSC exams (secondary school certificate board exams taken at the end of grade 8). When he finished his higher secondary (12th grade) education with an A+ grade, he knew he could start striving for the realization of his dream.
Yasin applied to three different renowned universities in Bangladesh. Of those, BUET (Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology), one of the top universities in engineering in the country, was his top choice. He got admitted in all three universities and was selected in the Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering Department at BUET!
This is just the beginning of Yasin’s life and the fulfillment of his dream.
