New Bathroom Improves Safety & Productivity for Female Students

Most of the students at OBAT’s Primary and Junior High School in Ferozeshah are girls. Previously, they had to use community toilets located far from the school. This posed safety concerns for the girls as they had to walk long distances to use the facilities. In addition, the community toilets were often dirty and unhygienic.

To address this issue, the school was able to construct two toilets—one each for the female students and the staff. This initiative has greatly improved the situation for the girls at the school. The toilets are now adjacent to the classrooms, eliminating the need for students to go outside for toilet breaks. The girls now feel safe and no longer have any fears related to using the facilities.

In addition, a dedicated office for the staff has been set up enabling them to carry out their work more efficiently. The previous office has been converted to a classroom. This has allowed us to stop renting classrooms outside our school compound and has enabled better monitoring as well.
