Our Mission
Our mission is to serve displaced and disadvantaged people by providing them access to education, healthcare, infrastructure and empowerment initiatives while ensuring sustainable community development
Education
An indefatigable student, Abul Kashem, defied all odds to become the first doctor from the camps. Access to education transformed his life and the lives of a multitude of students who worked relentlessly to realize their dreams of a higher education.
Health
Ninety year old Hasina Begum relies on OBAT’s Rangpur Clinic to provide her with continuous healthcare for diabetes and hypertension. Many individuals like her cannot afford to get treatment for common ailments due to their penurious circumstances.
Empowerment
Rashmi started a home based sewing business after receiving training from OBAT’s Chittagong Training center. She now contributes to supporting her destitute family and also finances her educational expenses.
OBAT Helpers is a 501(C) 3, non-profit organization committed to providing aid, support, education and economic empowerment to displaced, stranded and refugee populations residing in camps in Bangladesh.
