When I was in 3 rd grade, my mother told me two things. The first one was,
“Only good education can change the fate of a nation,” and the other one was
“Always strive for success in your life.” Her advice is still inspiring me to reach
my goal. I decided to be an engineer and am working hard to fulfill my dream.

My name is Ajay and I am 20 years old. My family and I live in Geneva camp,
Dhaka. There are four people in my family. We are two brothers and one
sister. My favorite hobby is playing cricket and travelling to new places.
Everybody has an aim in life because an aimless life is like a ship without a
captain. My aim in life is to be an engineer.

The biggest obstacle that my family encountered was when my father
abandoned us. He had been the only earning member in our family. It was
very difficult for me to continue my studies after that. At that time, my mother
struggled a lot and worked very hard so I could continue my education.

I started my journey with OBAT in 2012 as a student of OBAT NLJ High
School. I was admitted into 6 th grade and completed my JSC level (8 th grade)
in 2014. I achieved a GPA of 4.06 in my JSC examination. I then got a chance
to be admitted into Feroza Bashar Ideal School and College and completed
my SSC (10 th grade) with a 5.0 GPA.

I received a scholarship from OBAT for further education and completed my
HSC (12 th grade) from Udayan College in 2018. During that time, I was also a
student of OBAT’s Tutoring Center. I received admission in the University of
Barisal in 2019 and started studying there with the help of a scholarship from
OBAT. At present, I’m an Honors 1st year student in the Department of
Physics at the University of Barisal.

When I was in 3 rd grade, my mother told me two things. The first one was,
“Only good education can change the fate of a nation,” and the other one was

I want to thank all of the supporters of OBAT Helpers and especially Mr.
Anwar Khan, for being a big part of my journey. OBAT does wonderful work
by helping students who have big dreams but are unable to fulfill them on their
own.
