“I dreamed of becoming an engineer since I was a child. My father was a rickshaw-puller and bore my educational expenses with great difficulty. Things took a turn for the worst when I was in grade 8-it became impossible for me to continue my education due to the deteriorating finances of my family. Thankfully, we came across OBAT Helpers around that time and I graduated high school with the help of a scholarship from OBAT. Later, I received a scholarship from the Chinese Government in a joint program with the Government of Bangladesh. OBAT supported my lodging and living expenses during my studies in China. My parents supported me a lot through my journey as well- their prayers gave me the courage to go on.
I live in Ispahani Camp no. 3 in Rangpur. We have to struggle for basic necessities of living- hence, dreams rarely have the power to turn into reality. Due to OBAT, so many other students beside me have been able to dream as well.
I really pray from my heart that Allah bless Mr. Anwar Khan and all the people who are involved in uplifting our community. I am what I am today because of OBAT.”

In 2020, Saiban graduated with an Advanced Diploma in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from Jiangsu Agri-animal Husbandry Vocation College in China!
