Md. Sobuj

Md. Sobuj is a student of class ten. He plays cricket in the Dhaka City Club
and is an excellent cricketer. He has two brothers and three sisters. His family
lives in Ispahani camp-2 in Rangpur. Sobuj’s father sells bricks and sand for a
living.
“I got admission into class-2 in OBAT’s Rangpur School in 2010. I continued
my studies and passed the JSC (Junior School Certificate exam taken at the
end of grade 8) exam in 2016.
I always had a dream to be an excellent cricketer and play in the World Cup-I
started practicing every day. My father and the teachers at OBAT’s School
contributed greatly towards helping me. With the help of OBAT, I went to
Dhaka and got admission into Dhaka City Club for practicing. Now I practice
cricket at Rangpur Cricket Academy. I play in different cities such as Dhaka,
Rajshahi, Bogura, Dinajpur, Syedpur, Kurigram and Thakurgaon. I am famous
in my locality for my cricket skills!
I also run a cricket team for boys and girls at OBAT’s Rangpur School. A team
of 20 girls from the school participated in the ‘Woman Dreamer Cricket
Academy’ in 2020. I encouraged them and prepared them through rigorous
practice. I also run the boy’s team which has 56 students.
I am very thankful to OBAT for making my dream of playing cricket come true.
I hope to become a professional cricket player one day.”
