“I came from a family who had nothing, but my parents wanted to raise their
children to be self-sufficient by educating them. I am the eldest son of my
parents; they encouraged me to dream. It wasn’t easy for my parents to
educate me but they tried their best and now I am a graduate from a private
university.

In 2011, when I had just finished my HSC (High School) Degree and was
struggling to find a way to continue my education, I got a call from Mr. Sohail
Akhter Khan, OBAT’s Project Manager who said that he wanted to meet with
me. We met the next day, he had found out about the financial obstacles I
was facing and offered a scholarship from OBAT Helpers. It was nothing short
of a magical occurrence for me- a chance for realizing my dream. This was an
opportunity for me to get educated from a private university because in our
country, higher education is expensive and my family didn’t have the money to
pay for my studies. OBAT also gave me the opportunity to teach its tutoring
center.

I love OBAT’s S.B. Nagar Team because I learned a lot from them- how to
lead a team and how to speak well and effectively. OBAT not only helped me
by giving me a scholarship and a part-time job, but it also helped me develop
myself.”
