“I believe that challenges and obstacles give our life a meaning. And if we have a goal in our life, any challenges or obstacles become easier to overcome as we are determined to achieve our goals”
“My name is Noor Hasan. I am currently doing my BSC in CSE (Computer Science Engineering) from Southeast University. I am also working as a Project Manager of the OBAT/TTWF Digital Learning Program and currently leading the OBAT Smartphone Homeschooling Program for all cities in Bangladesh. TTWF stands for Teach The World Foundation (an international NGO working to spread digital literacy around the world). OBAT Helpers is partnering with TTWF for the implementation of its digital learning programs.
In 2013, when I passed my JSC examination, my parents and I were concerned about my path forward. Higher education was not affordable-my father was the only earning source. I found myself helpless and started thinking about dropping out and doing a vocational course which would quickly add to my family’s income. That same year, I heard about OBAT’s scholarship program and I applied for that. Thanks to that scholarship approval, I was able to continue studying in 10th grade and then proceed to intermediate level education.
When we look around us, most prominent and successful people came from poor/underprivileged families. Education and their hard work brought them to their ultimate goal. Some of them changed their societies with their leadership. Besides providing the students with the light of education, OBAT also cares about building leadership traits among students and it does so through the OBAT Think Tank group. I can feel the change in me after engaging with the Think Tank² volunteer team. I have also learned communication skills and received training to develop my digital skills like photography, video documentation, etc. I gain more confidence day by day. Spending time in the OBAT Computer Training Center became one of my favorite pastimes and I worked on enhancing my computer skills there. I got the motivation to become an independent app developer. That’s why I choose to study Computer Science. In addition, I am a part of the OBAT Media Production team which focuses on producing video and photographic content.
I am very happy to say that I am the first person in my family to study in a university. I cannot imagine this without the support of OBAT Helpers. I consider OBAT as Allah’s blessing in my life.
I was always actively engaged in OBAT’s activities. In 2017, OBAT started its journey of digital learning with Teach The World Foundation, and I was chosen to facilitate the digital class. I feel really proud to be associated with two excellent organizations, OBAT and TTWF. I received training and became more motivated. In August 2018, my happiness knew no bounds when I got selected as a Project Officer for OBAT’s Digital Learning Program.
Working with OBAT and TTWF improved my personality & attitude. I would like to give a big thanks to Anwar Sir, the founder of OBAT, and Shirin Ma’am, Chief Implementation Officer of TTWF.
I believe that challenges and obstacles give our life a meaning. And if we have a goal in our life, any challenges or obstacles become easier to overcome as we are determined to achieve our goals. When I see any people struggling in their lives, I cannot but feel thankful to Allah for blessing me with so many opportunities.
I pray to Allah for all those kind-hearted people who are supporting OBAT Helpers and are helping to bring a transformation in the lives of the most forgotten people. Thank you for becoming an OBAT Helper.”
