“It would not have been possible for me to reach my goal without a scholarship from OBAT HELPERS.”

“My name is Sharmin Akter. I live in Ishpahani Camp in Rangpur. My father is a shoe salesman. My mother is a housewife. I have two brothers. They are also students.

When I passed my PSC examination in class 5 from BRAC school in 2011, my father could not afford to admit me to class six due to his low income.

At that time, OBAT Helpers came forward with a helping hand and gave me a scholarship. I was admitted to Robertson Gonj School and College in class six as an OBAT scholarship student.

After enrolling in school, I continued my studies regularly. By the grace of Allah, I continued to reach my goal, achieving good results in the final exam of each class. I got  a 4.98 GPA  in JSC examination in 2015 and a 4.64 GPA in SSC examination in 2017.  In my HSC exam in 2020, I was able to attain a 4.83 GPA.

After the SSC examination, I applied for admission in Physiotherapy at the Institute of Health Technology (IHT), participated in the admission test, and got selected from 100,000 candidates. My merit position was 3444.

Even at this time the admission fee was very high and it was not possible for my family to afford it. Again OBAT Helpers supported me in getting admitted in the Institute of Health Technology, Rangpur.

I completed my diploma in Physiotherapy in three years and did a 6-month internship at Rangpur Medical College.

Now, I am a graduated Physiotherapist and recently, I also started working as a Physiotherapist in OBAT’s Rangpur Clinic which treats patients free of cost

It would not have been possible for me to reach my goal without a scholarship from OBAT Helpers.

Thank you so much to OBAT’s President, Mr. Anwar Khan , donors, and all the OBAT  team members.”
