Fiaz Fareed
Fiaz Fareed works in nuclear medicine by day and is a humanitarian at all other hours. He is leading the Friends of OBAT Chapter in North Carolina and is also serving on OBAT’s advisory board.
Mr. Fareed is passionate about providing relief to the poor and the needy, wherever the need might be. His motivation comes from the Prophet’s (PBUH) saying, “The most beloved people to Allah are those who are most beneficial to people. The most beloved deed to Allah is to make a Muslim happy, or to remove one of his troubles, or to forgive his debt, or to feed his hunger.
“My life begins after I leave work in the medical field which is my livelihood. My real work begins by serving people at large, be it as a school crossing guard or as a prison counselor.”
Fiaz Fareed’s passion to provide relief to the distressed and the oppressed landed him in the Rohingya camp in Bangladesh. He was equally concerned for children’s education in the poor and underserved communities which led him to work closely with OBAT Helpers. He also serves as the Outreach Coordinator at the Islamic Association of Raleigh in North Carolina.
