Early morning, we traveled with the OBAT English School staff, teachers and students to Mirpur. There we began by visiting the OBAT water point and a preschool, while meeting with the camp residents along the way. In Mirpur, along with our water point and preschool that serves more than fifty students, we also have thirty students participating in our working children’s class and twenty-four students enrolled in our IT center that has more courses in the pipeline. This year, we hosted an iftar here for sixty families and performed qurbani, with more than six hundred families benefitting from the meat distribution.
We later joined our local Mirpur team at the newly acquired OBAT BLS High School. There, talented and confident students of different classes from three different OBAT schools in the area, participated in cultural performances including poems, rhymes and drama. The afternoon also included stall exhibitions of boutique work, food, handicraft and arts and crafts.
