Camp resident, Arman, worked as a barber for a living until the pandemic forced the barber shop he worked at to shut down.
To enable him to get back on his feet, the local mosque provided him with a 6 ft. by 5 ft. space to open a shop of his own.
OBAT further assisted Arman to help get his business started, by providing construction materials for the shop as well as chairs and a mirror. Arman made the shop’s wooden desk himself to further cut down the cost.
Today, Arman’s barber shop is a success, providing him with a daily income of 500 Taka or $6 a day. Arman’s story is a reminder that a little assistance can turn someone’s life around, and prevent them from sinking into poverty.
