A devastating fire broke out in the Nayapara Rohingya Refugee Camp in Cox’s Bazar the morning of January 14th. 3,500 people lost their homes when the fire destroyed more than 677 shelters. A community center and several shops were also lost. Fortunately, no deaths or serious injuries have been reported, and those who sustained minor injuries have been released after initial treatment.
Thanks to the generosity of Mr. Ashraf Amdani, OBAT stepped in to provide winter clothes, utensils, and other essential items to the 677 families who are now struggling to rebuild their shelters.
