Khushion Ka Baazar (the Happiness Bazaar)
Camp families visit a “grocery store” and select food items from a list which has a maximum value attached to it- the items in the list include their prices, and the shopper can select items as long as their total amount does not exceed the set value. This method was tested as a pilot project in lieu of distributing a standard bag of items to every needy family. This innovative approach gives families in need the freedom to choose less or more of what they need during their month of fasting.
Based on the feedback received, the Bazaar will continue to dispense happiness at a bigger scale!
