Masum Mahbub

Masum is a dynamic and proactive public relations professional with experience across agency, government and international organizations. He has demonstrated himself as a strategic thinker with exposure to cross-cultural communications in national and international context. He has proven-experience in leading result-oriented communications initiatives from community to policy level.
Mr. Mahbub is a marketing professional by training and has an MBA in people management. Furthermore, he has received training on different communications aspects from International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Headquarters (Switzerland, 2007), IUCN Asia Regional Office (Thailand, 2008), and performed official assignments in the World Conservation Congress 2008 and 2012 in Spain and South Korea respectively. He is a member of IUCN Commission on Education and Communication (CEC).
Mr. Mahbub worked with IUCN Bangladesh Country Office for about four years. He was actively worked under the projects on environmental capacity assessment, millennium development goals, Avian Influenza and water-birds relationship, and awareness building on climate change and it’s impact on agriculture and food security where he successfully assisted in conducting community meetings and media briefings at the national and local levels and also in developing tools for education and awareness raising for students and teachers. He strongly contributed to a project entitled ‘Action Research for Conservation of Asian Elephants in Bangladesh: Phase III’ as a communications expert where he organized and lead awareness programs on elephant conservation in elephant range in Cox’s Bazar in south-eastern Bangladesh.
Most recently, Masum completed his second master’s degree in nonprofit management from School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), where he was President of Bangladeshi Students Association and Vice President of Public Affairs Students Association. In his spare time, Masum loves reading, photography, and traveling.
