In the evening, we attended a meeting with OBAT Bangladesh. We discussed how we can expand our projects, project proposals and what activities will be performed in 2017. This strategic planning meeting also included confirming details and arrangements for the two-day training on Monday and Tuesday that OBAT is hosting for its youth leadership and staff.
Conducted a workshop on “The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership” (Timeless Leadership Principles to Improve the Impact and Influence with Others, written by John C. Maxwell, expert leadership teacher, consultant and author). Being a member of the John Maxwell Team, I planned to teach our youth and OBAT team members that everything rises and falls on leadership.
I was very glad to give the first leadership training in Bangladesh at EMK center Dhaka. This is a two day long leadership training. On the first day, eighty-seven participants, including OBAT program officers, Think Tank members and also participants from different NGO’s like LEO, AWARD, Al-Falah, PAATH, USPYRM, Council of Minority and Ahmed Foundation participated in the training. Immad Siddiqui was helping me during the training. I was really happy that everyone was actively participating from 11 am to 6 pm. We discussed five laws of leadership with introductions, practical life examples and lots of interaction amongst the participants.
I was able to visit the camp in the evening and met with some kids and parents. They had invited me to meet their family. It was my pleasure and honor to visit their houses and get to know some family and other issues that needed to be resolved.
Afterwards, we attended a yearly presentation session given by program officers from the cities served by OBAT. Team Dhaka, Khulna, Chittagong, Rangpur and Saidpur gave a wonderful presentation of their projects. In this meeting, every city also shared their strengths, opportunities and also their 2017 strategic plan.
