OBAT’s three tutoring centers provide students with after school coaching to improve their grades and help them pass their major exams. Most of these students have illiterate parents and hence they cannot help their children with homework or exam preparation. Rani is a seven year old with an impeccable attendance record and an equally impressive progress report. She studies in OBAT’s Rangpur Preschool. Her father, Nasir earns about $1.50 a day as a worker at a railway station. Rani’s mother, Shakila is illiterate and stays at home. Out of her two siblings, Lily and Sakib, Lily attends prechool as well. Rani lives with her family in a small rented hut made out of sticks and bamboo. Shuvo is six years old and studies in the Kindergarten class at OBAT’s Rangpur Preschool. His father, Mr. Musfikul works as a daily laborer and earns a little over a dollar a day. Mother, Shorifa, a home maker has studied up to grade 5. Shuvo lives with his parents at Muslimpara camp, Alamnagar, Rangpur. Their family’s poverty ridden life is a struggle, to say the least. We are almost there! But not there, just yet! We had a great fundraising day yesterday and  our wonderful supporters helped us raise $610. Our Preschool  project has to raise $4,000 from 50 donors by April 30 to earn a permanent spot on GlobalGiving.
