There could not be a more unique individual gracing this earth than Katie Basbagill. Unorthodox, passionate, effervescent and endearingly funny, Katie is true to the name of her photographic venture, “Bohemian Red Images-” Bohemian and red (hair) included.
Her adventure through life as a photojournalist takes her to places like Cambodia, Swaziland, and Zimbabwe, where she photographs victims of natural and political calamities and tells their tales to the world through her work.
Our paths crossed at an event at the Athenaeum through a stroke of luck- courtesy of none other than Professor John Clark. Since then, working with her has been a pure joy, her commitment to set things right in the world, through her work, is monumental. We are really lucky to have her visit the camps in Bangladesh in December 2012 where she will use her infinite talent to bring back some beautiful pictures for us. The world needs more people like you, Katie.
