On this day, we say thank you to Sense Charter School for being a great partner. As OBAT’s beneficiary for its local project, “Rehma,” Sense has provided OBAT with the opportunity to contribute in the local community. OBAT finances tutors who provide tutoring to struggling students at the school. Most of the children at the Sense School are in need of assistance, financial and otherwise.
OBAT is also initiating a pen pal program between the 2nd graders at Sense and those at its Dhaka School in Bangladesh. This will give an opportunity to both schools’ students to learn about each other’s lives and to build a deep connection between them.
A part of our November celebration is to give back a little more in our community. Hence we are hosting a food and book drive for the Sense School.
The School does not have a library and we aim to collect enough books to enable them to start one.
Sense School also needs to stock its food pantry which exists to help the students’ families, most of whom are in a position to greatly benefit from it.
So, here’s hoping that you have books to part with and a few extra cans of food in your pantry that you would like to share with others. Please encourage your family and friends too and drop these items off either at OBAT’s office:
1100 W. 42ndSt, ste. 125, Indianapolis 46208 or at
5998 Hall Rd.
Plainfield, IN 46168.
