Noor Hussain class-10

Noor Hussain’s aim in life is to become  a Chartered Accountant. He is currently a student of
OBAT’s tutoring center in Dhaka, where he’s receiving help in studying for the public exams that he
needs to take in grade nine. Many students from the camps are able to get high marks on these exams
after receiving assistance from these tutoring centers, thus enabling them to continue their education.
Noor holds Anwar Khan, the founder of OBAT Helpers, in great esteem since he feels Mr. Khan has
allowed him to continue his education.
Noor lives with his four siblings and parents, Mohamad Nurain and Seema, in block G of Geneva Camp.
His father peddles wares as a hawker, which provides a monthly income of $65 to support the family of
six. Noor likes to play cricket in his free time. He thinks that one should always be truthful, no matter
what. If he could do one thing for the camp residents, it would be to remove drug trafficking from the
camps.

Students in Bangladesh need to take government-administered exams at the end of 8th, 10th, and 12th
grade to move to the next level. The parents of most of the kids in the camps are illiterate and have
never had formal education, so they can’t help their children with homework or exam prep. More than
600 students are served by OBAT’s tutoring center, and more centers are being planned every year.
Friends of OBAT in Ft. Wayne provide the support for the tutoring center that helps Noor and other
students in Dhaka.
