Aftab Iqbal was born on Nov 12,1947 in East Pakistan, presently Bangladesh, where he had all his education. There, he completed his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from then Rajshahi Engineering College in 1968. After graduation, he joined Karnafully Paper Mills in Chittagong. Then, he joined the EPWAPDA, where, as Assistant Engineer, took part in the construction of Thermal Power Station at Ashuganj, Comilla. He was then transferred to Rajshahi Electric supply and worked also as a visiting teacher at Rajshahi Engineering College.

He started working with NED Engineering University, Karachi, as Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Department. While in NED, he availed the commonwealth scholarship and completed his Master’s program in Energy Engineering from the UK. He remained associated with NED University till 1998, as associate Professor, the year when he migrated to the USA.

In the USA, he served in the IT department of Delta bank while in New York, then he moved to San Jose and joined Nortel Networks.  He is retired now and enjoying life with his grandkids.
