Qaisar Shareef concluded in 2011 a career of nearly 30 years with Procter & Gamble. He joined the company in Marketing at its Cincinnati, Ohio headquarters in 1981. He then spent a dozen years living and working abroad as P&G country manager in startup ventures in the emerging markets of Pakistan and Ukraine. P&G Pakistan was specifically recognized by the U.S. Department of State with an Award for Corporate Excellence in 2012. From 2002-04 he served as Director Marketing – Global Customer Business Development.
In his first book, When Tribesmen Came Calling: Building an Enduring American Business in Pakistan published in 2017 by Blue Ear Books, Qaisar narrates his experiences successfully building Procter & Gamble businesses in these emerging markets.
Over the past 5 years he has been active on boards of several nonprofit organizations. He is a member of the Leadership Council of Convergence Center for Policy Resolution, a Washington D.C. based think tank. He is currently serving on the Board of Trustees of ICJS, a Baltimore-based interfaith community organization and on the board of American Muslim Institution (AMI). He has also served for 4 years on the board of OPEN DC, a nonprofit, networking and mentoring organization of entrepreneurs and professionals.
Qaisar is an advisory partner at Ward Howell International, a global executive search and management consultancy firm. He has taught as adjunct faculty in International Marketing in the School of International Business at the George Washington University. He has been based in the Washington, DC area since 2013.
He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey, and an MBA from the University of Cincinnati in Ohio.
