Hridroy lives in Ispahani camp in Alamnagar. His diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes at the age of 10 was a shock to his family. Since they had limited knowledge of the condition and its management, they struggled to balance his medication, diet, and physical activity, leading to fluctuating blood sugar levels which led to adverse health effects.
When Hridoy’s family learned about OBAT’s Health Clinic in Rangpur, they connected with the team of healthcare professionals who specialized in diabetes care. He was prescribed insulin which he could not afford to buy. However, the medicine was provided to him free of cost from OBAT’s clinic pharmacy. OBAT’s Health Clinic also organized awareness workshops and interactive sessions where Hridoy met other young individuals with diabetes. Other than learning how to manage the disease, the workshops also boosted his morale.
Today, at the age of 15, Hridoy is not only leading a comfortable life with the support of OBAT Healthcare, he is also able to dream about a promising future for himself.
