The volunteers of OBAT’s Think Tank have been actively participating in efforts to ensure the safety and health of the camp residents during the pandemic. Throughout 2020, they distributed leaflets of safety information, masks, and hand sanitizers, and also provided oxygen cylinders to patients at their homes.
As vaccinations are now underway and some resistance to receiving them has been witnessed, the Think Tank has embarked on an effort to educate the camp residents on why it is beneficial to receive the vaccines. The Think Tank members go from house to house and speak to the residents, explaining the benefits of getting the vaccine and the risks of remaining unvaccinated. These home visits have led to the successful registrations of 6,286 people so far – and counting! All the registrants also have their vaccine cards printed. Kudos to the Think Tank for their dedication!
