Mr. Shah Rezwan Hayat, Commissioner for Refugee Relief and Repatriation, visited an OBAT health post that’s run with the help of its implementing partner, Prantic Unnayan Society. He visited various departments of the OBAT Health Post at Rohingya Camp No. 4 in Kutupalong, Ukhia and expressed his satisfaction at the effectiveness and efficiency of the programs. “The health post is playing an important role in providing emergency and first aid to the Rohingya community,” said Mr. Shah Rezwan Hayat; “We hope it will continue to provide quality services in the future.”
He spoke with the doctors, health workers, and also to the mothers receiving the services. Later, he distributed baby kits to ten mothers who had recently given birth. These kits of essential items for newborns are supported by OBAT’s partner, Bee Humble. Deputy Secretary and Camp-in-Charge (CIC) of Camp-4, Mr. Md. Mahfuzar Rahman, as well as CIC office and PRANTIC officials were present at the time.
Animesh Biswas Atal, Program Coordinator of PRANTIC, said, “This health post, which has been operating for three years and is well-reputed, has provided medical services to more than two hundred thousand Rohingya patients from other Rohingya camps. Citizens of the host community also receive emergency healthcare through our Health Post in any emergency.”
