150 Cataract Surgeries Restore Sight to Camp Residents

Thanks to our donors’ generosity, 150 cataract surgeries were recently completed in Khulna and Chandpur. These surgeries took place with the help of our partners, Abdul Wadud Hospital in Khulna and BNSB Eye Hospital in Chandpur.

The patients are selected through eye camps that are held with the assistance of these partners. Eye camp patients that require only medication and are not in need of surgery are provided with the necessary medicine, while those identified with cataracts are scheduled for surgeries at the hospitals.

The treatment includes a follow-up visit, black spectacles and post-operative medicines as well. OBAT’s Think Tank volunteers extended their assistance by transporting patients to and from the hospital, as well as helping them post surgery.

Patients’ quality of vision is restored through these treatments, making their lives so much easier!
