In 2016, OBAT formed a Cricket Club in the Rangpur School to encourage students interested in the sport, as cricket is a popular sport in Bangladesh. Mohammad Sabuj, a student of grade 10 in OBAT’s Rangpur School and a passionate Cricket player, has contributed the most in establishing and building this Cricket Club for Rangpur School students. Currently, he is playing in the Rangpur Premier League.
Initially, the number of students in the club was 45; as the news spread, the number of students also increased. The students practice with dedication in order to become better performers. The club arranges tournaments every Friday to improve the skills and performance of the club’s members and to prepare them for participation in competitions.
Twenty girls from the club recently got a chance to play in the Dream Academy Cricket Club in Rangpur due to their outstanding performance. OBAT’s Cricket Club gets access to many similar opportunities and they play with other local schools as well. The boys play with six other local schools including the prestigious IGS School which is a private institution.
