Many individuals in the camps are unable to reach their potential or improve their living conditions due to a lack of income earning opportunities. They hence remain trapped in an endless cycle of poverty. OBAT’s focus on empowerment aims to address this widespread challenge. A generous gift enabled us to distribute five rickshaws to individuals in the cities of Chittagong, Syepdur, Bogra and Rangpur. The rickshaws were distributed to the poorest of individuals who were in desperate need of a source of income. One of them, Imran featured left, lost a leg in a traffic accident. After receiving a prosthetic leg with OBAT’s support, he is now able to drive a rickshaw for a living.
11 laptops were also gifted to students who were either in need of computers to complete their education or were working as freelancers and pursuing online employment opportunities.
