Operating successfully for almost four years, OBAT’s sewing center in Chittagong has empowered over 100 women, providing them with training on both industrial and standard sewing machines.
Graduates find employment in the garments industry or start businesses from home. However, not all women own a sewing machine, which prevents them from being able to start their business.
Recently, due to a recent generous donation, five graduates were gifted with sewing machines. Our staff visited the recipients to follow up and provide any additional assistance, and found all the women to be successfully running home-based businesses using the machines. This allows the women’s families to benefit from a greater income and thus have greater well-being!
